5 “Kamal ke Jugaads” that Indians do during summers, take a look!

Beat the heat with these top Kamal ke Jugaads!

Undoubtedly, this hot summer is killing us. Cold drinks, ice-creams are the only the saviours, isn’t?  Well, it’s quite obvious that if you are a student living away from your family or you don’t have enough savings than you cannot buy an AC to pamper yourself, right?

Buy no worries people. Indians are pro at when it comes to jugaad. Indians are known for their jugaads. Isn’t that cool? Yes, it is!  So, today we have managed to bring several kamal ke jugaads for you that you can use to keep the summers at Bay!

1. Use a wet towel: Remember those hard to imagine days, when you were deprived of all possible privileges? How could you sleep through a hot summer night without an AC or even a cooler? Ask your parents guys. Well by wetting your towels and bed sheets were used as cooler machines during that time. This is how it can be done: wet your bed sheet and towel with cold water and wring it so the water does not keep dripping later. Place the sheet on your bed and use the wet towel as a blanket. Coolness, guaranteed!

2.Wet shades and curtains: Open your windows and lower the shades/blinds. Using cloth clips, clip all the sides of the curtains or shades to the window and sprinkle water all over, to let the hot loo turn into cool breeze as it enters your house.

3.Ceiling fan: You can actually adjust your fan settings such that the blades run counter-clockwise. This will create a wind-chill breeze effect that will bring down the room’s temperature.

4.Table fan hack:You can also trick the table fan into giving out a sea-like cool breeze. Operating on the same logic as mist fans, which you might have seen at weddings and outdoor parties, fill a bowl with a block of ice or cold water and position it at an angle that falls right in front of a large fan. As a result, the air from the fan will whip off cold water from the ice’s surface as it melts, creating a cool mist.

5. Life hacks: Having iced drinks through the day and keeping yourself hydrated is important. Very important in fact. Take advantage of natural light as much as possible, as light bulbs and even environment-friendly CFLs give off heat. You can also use ice packs on pulse points like the wrists, neck, elbows, groin, and ankles and behind the knees for instant relief from the heat. Wrap your sheets in a plastic bag and store them in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes before going to bed.
