As the auspicious festival of Chhath Puja approaches, preparations are underway to celebrate this joyous occasion dedicated to Lord Surya (Sun God) and Chhathi Maiya. The festival holds immense significance, especially in the northern states of Bihar, Jharkhand, and eastern Uttar Pradesh, where it is observed with great fervour. Chhath Puja, celebrated six days after Diwali, involves a 36-hour Nirjala Vrat (fast without water) by women for the well-being, prosperity, and happiness of their offspring.

-Raw Turmeric, Radish, and Ginger Plant: These items hold significance for Chhath Puja.

-Big Sweet Lemon: The puja uses a very big sweet lemon.


-Banana, Pear, and Sapota: These fruits are essential offerings.

Sweet Potato and Suthani (a type of tuber): These are some of the things you should include.

-Mithai (Sweets), Jaggery (Gur), Wheat Flour, and Ghee: Procure sweets, jaggery, wheat flour, and ghee.

-Turmeric, Haldi Leaves, and Green Gram: These are necessary ingredients for the puja.

-Singhara (Water Chestnut) and Suthani: Remember also to take these.

-Snacks and Dry Fruits: Make provisions for snacks and dry fruits for Prasada.
