Now even you can verify your Twitter account

Twitter the Micro-blogging website has created an online application process for the Twitter accounts to receive a verified status, which will allow people to identify key individuals and the organisations on Twitter as a part of authenticity and are being denoted by a blue badge icon.

The verification badge is done by a little blue symbol with a white checkmark. An account can be verified if it is determined to be of public interest.

Typically this will include accounts which are maintained by public figures and the organisations in music, fashion, TV, film, government, politics, religion, sports, business, journalism, media, and other key interest areas.
