Delhi woman’s stalker arrested for sharing morphed photos of woman’s minor sister, highlighting online harassment and legal action
In Delhi, a 25-year-old man named Mohammed Furkan was apprehended for disseminating manipulated images of a minor girl on social media, along with explicit comments and audio clips. This disturbing incident unfolded when Furkan stalked a Delhi woman and manipulated photographs of her younger sister, the minor girl. He then shared these distorted images on various social media platforms, accompanying them with lewd comments and audio clips, leading to his arrest.

Swift Arrest and Location
The Delhi Police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Joy Tirkey, acted swiftly and arrested Furkan on Thursday. Both the victim and the accused are residents of northeast Delhi’s Maujpur. The case came to the attention of the northeast Delhi cyber cell on May 25, prompting immediate action.
It was revealed that the accused not only posted the manipulated images on Instagram but also created a fake profile for the 15-year-old girl on the platform. He not only circulated these photos widely but also sent them to the girl’s relatives and friends, exacerbating the distress caused by this heinous act.
Legal Action and Motive
In response, the police have filed a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, as well as sections 67 and 67B of the IT Act. Furkan’s mobile phone has been confiscated as evidence. During interrogation, he disclosed that his actions were triggered by the rejection of his proposal by the woman he had been stalking. Furkan, who is already married and has two children, resorted to downloading the photographs from the woman’s sister’s Instagram account and posted them with vulgar comments and audio clips on a newly created identity.

Furkan’s arrest was made possible with the assistance of technical surveillance, five months after the case was initially reported. This incident serves as a chilling reminder of the importance of safeguarding minors from cyber exploitation and the need for swift action against such perpetrators.
