Delhi Crime News, On Monday, August 21, the Delhi Police arrested a 50-year-old high-ranking government official following allegations of raping a minor girl his friend’s 17-year-old daughter. Charges have been filed against the official employed in the Department of Women and Child Development in Delhi’s government, along with his wife allegedly raping the minor girl for multiple months during the period of 2020 to 2021.

Ongoing investigation:
The deputy director and his wife, who are accused, are undergoing interrogation. Other witnesses or potential suspects will also be included in the ongoing investigation, stated Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sagar Singh Kalsi.
Meanwhile,On Monday, 21 August, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal ordered the official’s suspension.

POCSO:
An FIR has been registered against a male guardian for allegedly committing rape on a woman under Indian Penal Code sections 376(2)(f). The accused and his wife are also charged with criminal intimidation, insulting a woman’s modesty, causing hurt, miscarriage without consent, and criminal conspiracy. Additionally, sections 6/21 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act are invoked. The complaint was lodged on August 13 at Burari police station.
