Bharat Jodo Yatra: The Kanyakumari to Kashmir yatra, which lasted 135 days, came to an end with the Congress’s big rally at Sher-I-Kashmir Cricket Stadium
Despite bad weather, the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra’s concluding ceremony began with a flag-hoisting ceremony at a stadium in Srinagar on Monday, January 30, in Jammu and Kashmir. After that, there will be a rally at the stadium.
Srinagar is still receiving a lot of snow. The Kanyakumari to Kashmir yatra, which lasted for135 days, came to an end with the Congress’s big rally at Sher-I-Kashmir Cricket Stadium as part of the march’s closing ceremony.
The rally will feature around a dozen of opposition party leaders and Congress leadership. The primary route between Jammu and Srinagar has been forced to close due to the snowfall, which may also cause air travel problems. Many opposition leaders, including Congressman Rahul Gandhi, who was scheduled to attend the yatra’s conclusion, may be unable to make it.
There were 21 parties invited to the event, but several declined owing to the security issues, according to reports. Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, and TDP are a few of the parties that would not attend the event.
The “padyatra” ended on Sunday at Lal Chowk when Rahul Gandhi raised the National flag, but Srinagar, which is currently experiencing snowfall, will host the official ending ceremony on Monday.
The 12 parties that confirmed to attend are — MK Stalin-led Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Sharad Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Tejashwi Yadav-led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United), Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena, CPI(M), CPI, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), Kerala Congress, Farooq Abdullah-led Jammu & Kashmir National Conference, Mehbooba Mufti’s Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and Shibu Soren’s Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
The 3,970-kilometer journey from Srinagar to Kanyakumari, which began on September 7 and passed through 12 states and two union territories, ends on January 30.

Throughout the yatra, Rahul Gandhi attended 13 press conferences, over 100 corner meetings, and other events. He had more than 275 scheduled exchanges while walking and more than 100 when sitting.
At the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee headquarters, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will raise the national flag and dedicate a tribute to the Bharat Jodo Yatra. After then, the rally would take place.
At a press conference on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi claimed that although the Bharat Jodo Yatra went from South to North, it had an impact across the nation and that the march had provided the nation with an alternative vision.
He also said that though Opposition parties may have their differences, they will stand united against the RSS-BJP. Addressing a press conference, Gandhi said, “Bharat Jodo Yatra was from South to North but had national effect… There are two roads before India… two ways of life. One is the vision of oppression and the second is the vision to unite all,” he said. “This yatra has not ended… This is the first step, the beginning,” Rahul added. Accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi, Rahul hoisted the Tricolour at Lal Chowk.
If the situation is so good, why don’t the BJP people walk from Jammu to Lal Chowk? Mr Gandhi asked, pointing out that targeted killings and bomb blasts have become frequent occurrences in Jammu and Kashmir.
