The wait is finally over for Apple fans in India. The iPhone 18 Pro India launch has officially moved into the sales phase, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max now available to customers from September 18, 2026. Apple had opened pre-orders on September 12, and buyers can now purchase the latest Pro models through Apple Stores, the Apple Store app, the company’s website and authorised retail channels.
Launch day has already created excitement outside Apple Stores in several Indian cities. Reports from Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru showed customers gathering and waiting in queues to get their hands on the latest Pro models. At the Apple Store in Select Citywalk, Saket, Delhi, long queues were reported as buyers arrived for the first day of sales.
iPhone 18 Pro Max: Price Starts at Rs 1,79,900
The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900 for the 256GB model in India. Customers can also choose 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options, priced at Rs 2,04,900, Rs 2,54,900 and Rs 3,29,900 respectively.
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs 1,64,900 for 256GB. The 512GB variant costs Rs 1,89,900, while the 1TB and 2TB models are priced at Rs 2,39,900 and Rs 3,14,900 respectively.
Apple and retail partners are also offering financing and promotional options. Depending on the retailer, bank and eligibility, buyers can find no-cost EMI options, cashback and exchange benefits.
Burgundy Red Brings a New Look
One of the most noticeable additions to the latest Pro lineup is the new Burgundy Red-style finish, officially described by Apple as burgundy. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are also available in black, silver and glacier.
The burgundy finish is likely to attract buyers looking for something different from Apple’s more traditional Pro colour choices. With the new finish, Apple has combined a distinctive exterior option with several hardware upgrades inside.
A20 Pro Chip Powers the New iPhone
At the heart of the iPhone 18 Pro series is Apple’s new A20 Pro chip. Apple says the chip uses a 2-nanometer process and includes a six-core CPU, a seven-core GPU and a new Neural Engine configuration designed to improve AI and computational photography workloads.
The A20 Pro is paired with a redesigned vapour chamber thermal system. Apple says the new system has three times the surface area of the previous generation and is designed to improve sustained performance during demanding workloads such as gaming, video processing and on-device AI tasks.
Dynamic Island Gets More Useful
The Dynamic Island also receives an update with the iPhone 18 Pro lineup. Apple says the redesigned Dynamic Island is smaller while creating room for additional information.
It can display up to three Live Activities simultaneously while continuing to support functions such as Face ID, app authentication and purchase verification.
For everyday users, this means more information can remain visible without constantly opening applications.
Camera Upgrades Target Creators
Camera improvements are another major focus of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Apple has introduced a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, giving users additional control over depth of field and lighting.
Apple has also added updated Photographic Styles with texture and grain controls and introduced additional Pro camera controls. Cinematic effects can also be applied after capturing compatible video at up to 60 frames per second.
These changes make the latest Pro models particularly relevant for users who regularly create photographs, videos and social-media content.
Apple Intelligence Gets a Bigger Role
Apple Intelligence is another central part of the iPhone 18 Pro experience. The phones run iOS 27 and support Apple’s next generation of Apple Intelligence features, alongside Siri AI.
Apple says Siri AI is rolling out in beta and is designed to offer more personalised interactions, including personal-context understanding and onscreen awareness. Feature availability can vary depending on language and region.
The A20 Pro’s additional neural-processing capabilities are also designed to support more demanding on-device AI workloads.
Battery Life and Performance Improvements
Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro series brings significant battery improvements. The iPhone 18 Pro Max, in particular, offers the largest battery-life increase Apple has delivered on a Pro model.
Apple also says eSIM-only versions can provide up to 36 hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro and up to 45 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

With the iPhone 18 Pro India launch now followed by the first day of retail sales, Apple’s newest premium smartphones are officially in the hands of Indian customers. From queues outside Apple Stores to online purchases and EMI offers, September 18 has become an important day for Apple’s 2026 smartphone lineup in India.
