Telegram update 2023: Popular messaging app Telegram rolls out its incredible latest update with added features like Profile Photo Maker, Emoji Categories, Translating Entire Chats, and many more. The messaging app is also offering a 40% annual discount on the premium membership for users who want to pay at one go for the annual subscription. Telegram also provides an option to gift premium subscriptions to your friends as well.

In its first major update in 2023 on iOS and Android platforms, Telegram is bringing multiple noteworthy features that lets users turn animated emoji into profile picture for their accounts along with other utility-driven features to enhance the user chat experience.

Moreover, the platform has also introduced some incredible features only for its premium users such as the Translation of Entire Chats. A bunch of 10 new packs of custom emojis from Telegram artists.

Profile Picture Maker

For more incredible experience, users can now quickly turn any animated emoji or sticker from the app into a profile picture of account, groups or even channels in their Telegram app. Also, the best thing is that users can use these animated and custom emojis, even if they don’t have Telegram Premium subscription.

Not only this, Users can set or suggest profile pictures for their contacts, which will require just two taps to add it to their profile. The said Profile Picture feature was initially introduced in the previous update around New Year recently.

Translating Entire Chats

Users who have Premium subscription will now be able to translate entire chats, groups and channels in real time by tapping the Translate bar at the top. The options menu lets them hide the bar and control which languages are translated in which, all users can translate individual messages by selecting them and tapping ‘Translate’.

Emoji Categories

Finding the right emoji and sticker for a particular situation has never been easy. With Telegram’s new feature Emoji Categories, they are now sorted by categories such as heart, thumbs up, and sleepy ‘zzz’ in the panel. Users just have to Hold any emoji to zoom in and get a good look before sending it and another best part is that Telegram users can send more than a million different stickers and emojis.

Network Usage

A detailed pie chart will now let users know how much data they have used by mobile data or Wi-Fi for Telegram and adjust their auto-download settings accordingly. It will be worth mentioning that Storage Usage received a similar upgrade last month.

Auto-Save Incoming Media

Users will be now able to manage and control when any media is saved automatically to their device gallery based on its size, type and from which chat it was received. Also, this menu now supports exceptions, so users will be able to save exactly what they want to.

Not only this, with Telegram, you don’t have to store everything on device as media and documents can be re-downloaded from their Telegram cloud any time, if removed from the user’s phone’s storage. In fact, Telegram encourages users to store files on their Telegram cloud.

Granular Media Permissions

Now, admins will be able to choose whether group members should be allowed to send 9 distinct media types – such as pictures, voice or video messages. Also, they can disable text messages to create media- only groups.

Without constant admin vigilance, voice notes-only or quiz-only communication is now possible with Telegram’s new feature update.

New Custom Emoji

With Telegram’s 10 new packs of custom emojis, the artists from Telegram have included several  hundred icons specially designed for group and profile pictures. Users can also browse and add any of these packs right from the new trending section at the top of your emoji panel.

New Interactive Emoji

The messaging app has introduced 10 new packs of custom emoji created by Telegram artists, expanding the app’s already extensive catalogue with new interactive versions of unicorns, monkeys, a pill, a heart with an arrow, a smiley with a kiss, and a monkey closing ears which you will definitely adore. Users will be able to send any of them in 1-on-1 chats, then tap to unleash a full-screen effect for you and your partner. Users can also use these emojis as reactions to anything they want.

Protection from Cybercriminals

Telegram has been working on app’s security from very long time as the messaging app has been in many controversies and currently, there have been many discussions and findings on how cybercriminals are leveraging the app’s OpenAI platform, specifically ChatGPT, to generate malicious content such as malware and phishing emails.
