Who will be the boss of Delhi? SC to hear case on Friday

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is facing a lot of criticism due to his ex party member Sandeep Kumar. Arvind Kejriwal’s contention that as the elected Chief Minister , he is the top boss of Delhi will be heard by the Supreme Court on Friday.

Last month, Mr Kejriwal was told he was wrong by the Delhi High Court, which ruled that as Delhi was a union territory, the final say in the administration of the capital lies with Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung, who acts as a representative of the centre.

According to reports Chief Minister’s lawyer requested the top court to hear the case urgently because it claimed that senior bureaucrats are choosing to report to the Lieutenant Governor instead of the Delhi government.

Mr Kejriwal aborted his first term as Chief Minister after just 49 days, resigning in protest after the opposition stalled an anti- corruption proposal from becoming law.

But last year in February he was re-elected with a humongous majority. His Aam Aadmi Party or AAP alleges that its work is impeded regularly by the national government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who seeks back-door control of the capital and exercises it by misusing agencies like the Delhi Police, which report to the centre and not the state.
