A senior party office bearer has said that, Dushyant Gautam the SC morcha chief has asked the MPs to further meet the Dalit community and make them understand that this is the first time, there is a government for the backward classes.

Unlike Mayawati and Rahul Gandhi, who have time to go out to Una in Gujarat, but have no time to meet Jisha a Dalit student who was raped and murdered] in Kerala, and have also remained silent on the atrocities on Dalits in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

He has also urged the MPs to not to be on the back foot and should list the various ways in which government is trying to help them through various programmes.

The party seemed to be worried about the atrocities by the cow vigilantes in various States, and some of these outfits claiming further allegiance to the larger Sangh Parivar. PM Narendra Modi’s strong statements condemning the vigilantism — at public meetings on the weekend— is a reflective of the worry in the party and also the Sangh circles.
