Smriti Irani, former actress and Minister of HRD (Human Resource Development), who is currently the Minister of Textiles Department, will be visiting the Siachen base camp on 18th August to meet the soldiers, who fight at the border.
She will be accompanied by DEfense Minister Manohar Parrikar. Seven other women ministers are also going to be visiting other areas to meet soldiers on the same day on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Ministers such as Sushma Swaraj, Uma Bharti, Maneka Gandhi will be making a visit to border areas and interacting with soldiers there.
This small step that will be taken by these Ministers can be seen as a huge morae booster for all our jawaans at the border who fight so hard for our country.
