Kala Safed, Brand with Flying Colours of Class

Why the Brainchild of Dr Sayema painted her couture, Kala Safed? Let us know here

What will happen if one day your wardrobe turns Kala Safed (Black & White)? This can be a nightmare for many but a blessing for some.

Yes, no matter how many colourful clothes are in your closet, we have a separate fanbase for whites and blacks. And your obsession with black and white has been noticed by the women-led sustainable fashion brand Kala Safed.

It was founded in 2020 and exemplified years of conceived fashion notions of an Indian mom-daughter duo.

Recently, we interacted with the brainchild of Dr Sayema and got to know the idea behind the brand.

Dr Sayema believes that fashion doesn’t need to be tricky or tacky, it needs to be simple & it needs to be YOU. “We are a minimalist fashion brand that brings to you the classiest & the most stylish variety of outfits in shades of black & white. As the name suggests, we focus on black and white clothes because they are versatile colours. They are the two basics which are go-to options for women. They can either keep it simple or jazz it up.”, said Sayema.

What makes Kala Safed unique from the other brands?

The founder of Kala Safed believes that “comfort” in styling does not just come from fabrics or patterns. Colours have a huge role to play. Keeping this one point in mind & with the notion of un-complicating styling & fashion, they started seeking inspiration to build a fashion brand that accommodates everybody.

They use organic fabrics like bamboo and banana cotton to make the clothes. This helps them keep the apparel lightweight and makes them unique.

Challenges are gender-free

Kala Safed is a women-led brand, and it is believed that the business world is highly dominated by men. But Sayema believes that Challenges are faced by everyone who starts something new, whether a man or a woman. So, she thinks we should focus on the challenge rather than the gender.

Why do women need to be financially independent?

Sayema says, “Women must be financially independent as it creates a sense of security and self-worthiness. If you have an idea that you believe in, now is the time to start working on it.”

We all have to agree that Black and White are 2 elegant colours, and Kala Safed is slaying in their couture. The brand is still mulling over launching its colourful range, but we also loved seeing their colourful styles.
