On Monday, the television world mourned the loss of Dinesh Phadnis, renowned for portraying Freddy in the iconic crime series ‘CID’. The 57-year-old actor passed away in Mumbai due to multi-organ failure stemming from liver damage.

Struggling with critical health, Phadnis was under ventilator support at Thunga Hospital. His co-star, Dayanand Shetty, confirmed the sad news, stating, “Yes, it’s true he is no more.” The

Final rites are scheduled for today at the Daulat Nagar crematorium, attended by many from the ‘CID’ family.

Apart from his role as Inspector Fredericks, Phadnis contributed to ‘CID’ by writing episodes. His presence extended to the big screen with appearances in ‘Sarfarosh’ and ‘Super 30’.
