Kerala’s Heavy Rain Alert: Roads Vanish Under Heavy Rain due to Waterlogging In Several Parts, 

Kerala heavy rain alert continues to drench multiple areas of Kerala, resulting in widespread waterlogging, particularly in the state’s southernmost district. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for nine out of the state’s 14 districts, indicating heavy rainfall ranging between 6 and 11 cm. The IMD further predicts isolated heavy rainfall in various regions of the state in the upcoming days.

Roads Submerged, Rescues

The Kerala heavy rain alert downpours, which began on Saturday, have left many roads in Thiruvananthapuram district submerged, making it challenging to distinguish between roads and streams in certain areas. Television broadcasts have shown cars nearly submerged, and rescuers using inflatable boats to evacuate people from their homes to safety camps. Additionally, reports of waterlogging and homes being inundated have emerged from different parts of Ernakulam district on Saturday. The situation underscores the challenges Kerala faces due to the persistent heavy rainfall and the need for continued vigilance and rescue efforts.
