Delhi weather: Residents of Delhi were taken by surprise as the national capital experienced moderate rainfall and strong winds on Friday morning. The rainy weather led to complaints about traffic congestion during the rush hour on social media platforms, including Twitter, where local residents shared unverified videos and photos.

The India Meteorological Department had issued warnings earlier, advising residents to be cautious and prepare for adverse weather conditions in the morning. The forecast indicated generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rainfall in Delhi for the next five days.

Delhi Traffic Woes

Numerous complaints emerged from various parts of the city. One user reported heavy traffic between Chattarpur and Qutub Minar in South Delhi, while another mentioned congestion at the Dwarka underpass heading towards Kapashera junction, noting that this was a recurring issue. In Mausam Vihar, near DAV school in Delhi, a user complained about heavy traffic congestion and called for intervention from Delhi’s traffic authorities.

A user shared a video of standstill traffic near Noida’s Amity International School in sector 44. Another highlighted heavy traffic congestion at the Sector 50 roundabout in Noida, sharing a video as well.

Traffic jam in Gaur City 2, Noida

Traffic problems persisted in Noida Extension, with complaints of missing traffic police presence and instances of vehicles driving in the wrong lanes causing delays during rainy weather. A person expressed frustration, suggesting that the traffic congestion in Gaur City-2, Noida Extension, seemed to be turning into a permanent issue, and they tagged Noida traffic authorities in their complaint.

 Another user on X complained about a significant traffic jam inside Gaur City 2, requesting assistance from Noida police. Additionally, a different user also reported traffic issues in Gaur City 2, attributing the congestion to vehicles travelling in the wrong direction.

In response to the increasing complaints, both Delhi and Noida traffic police acknowledged the situation and reassured residents that the relevant authorities were actively working to address these issues.
