Asaduddin Owaisi’s Challenge To Rahul Gandhi to Contest Elections from Hyderabad

Invoking historical allusions and political competition in Telangana, Rahul Gandhi, an MP from Wayanad, is called upon by AIMIM's Asaduddin Owaisi to run for election in Hyderabad rather than Wayanad.

Asadauddin’s Dare to Rahul Gandhi ahead of state assembly elections

On Sunday, while addressing a public gathering in Hyderabad  All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) leader Asaduddin Owaisi challenged Congress MP Rahul Gandhi to contest elections from Hyderabad and not Wayanad in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.Talking about the babri masjid ,Mr. Owaisi said the Babri Masjid, in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, was demolished under the regime of the grand old party.

The Congress and AIMIM are battling it out in Telangana for control of the state’s government in the next Assembly elections, which are expected to take place later this year. Rahul Gandhi claimed that the Bharatiya Janata Party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi, and AIMIM are collaborating in Telangana and that his party is battling against this troika earlier this month when speaking at the Vijayabheri Sabha in the Telangana town of Tukkuguda.

“In Telangana, the Congress party is fighting against a combined form of BRS, BJP, and AIMIM rather than fighting against BRS alone. They may identify as distinct parties, but they are united in their efforts, according to Rahul Gandhi.Just before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the leader of AIMIM had issued a similar challenge to Rahul Gandhi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in 2018.Owaisi accused Gandhi of being involved with the BJP and claimed that the Congress and BJP were working together to pass the Triple Talaq Bill in Parliament. “Support the regional parties if you want relief from both of these parties. The national parties can only be stopped by regional parties, he claimed.  On Sunday, Owaisi said that his party’s “two” votes against the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam “shocked the Parliament.”

“BJP leaders kept saying that two of our MPs voted against the women’s reservation bill,” the AIMIM MP said. But, we shocked the parliament.”
