Welcome to the planet of ‘Distractions’

The World of technology is full of distractions

Era of technology is taking the world by storm. We people are now no more citizens of a particular country, rather we all have become Netizens (someone, who spends his or her maximum time on internet).

After all, now spending time on internet isn’t a fashion anymore, in fact it has become our necessity to regularly update our status on social media platforms and to give instant replies to the messages everytime when our phone beeps.

Healthy discussions and debates are now replaced by whatsapp group chats, birthday wishes are now just confined to our Facebook walls. Actually we humans have become machines and for us emotions hardly matters because we are so called “Digitalized People”.

How these tempting distractions are impacting us?

Indeed these technology distractions are very tempting because they help us to connect with our old friends, loved ones and relatives and that’s why we continuously use it. But do you know we have unintentionally created a cobweb around us and getting out of it is next to impossible.

These Distractions are decreasing our work efficiency and in the attempt to multi –task things we end up doing blunders. According to a report, a lot of employees use social media platforms at workplace for their personal use and this is causing a huge deterioration in the quality of work.

Not only this, continuous use of technology has brought down the level of professionalism. Now- a –days people are so addicted to their phones that sometimes they forget that they are sitting in a meeting.

Distractions
Cyber Addiction and decreasing work quality

This addiction has not only hit the working people, but has hugely impacted school students. Students usually stay fixed to their phones no matter where they are, and which further results in poor performance and repetition of the ideas.

What all can be done?

Technology has become like food, water and shelter and it seems living without them is impossible for today’s generation. But then it’s never too late, one needs to stay away from all the distractions for efficient results. Keeping the state of society in the mind, AIIMS has also come up with a psychiatric OPD to treat cyber addicts. These OPD will remain open on Saturdays. So before it completely conquer you please help yourself.
