An app to help clean heritage sites

The Tourism Ministry is planning to launch a new ‘Swachh Paryatan’ mobile app on Monday for around 25 monuments from all around the country, through which visitors will take pictures of all that is unkempt in or around the monuments , which will directly go to the control rooms headed by the officials from the Archeological Survey of India (ASI).

Notably, the department is responsible for the maintenance of these heritage sites, and the Nodal officer will work upon fixing the problem as soon as possible and at the same time inform the complainant about the actions taken.

This app will first include a total of 25 monuments, 4 from Uttar Pradesh which will include Taj Mahal and Sarnath, 3 from Delhi including Humayun’s Tomb and Red Fort, Elephanta caves from Maharashtra, Konark Temple of Odhisa and many more such historic placed.
