The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered government to create a disaster mitigation fund to tackle drought- like conditions in various states including Bihar, Gujarat and Haryana. The apex court also directed Agriculture Ministry to hold a meeting with the affected states to assess the condition.

The court has asked government to revise the drought management manual, so that effective help could be given to the calamity – hit farmers and nation plan could be figured to tackle the crisis.
The Supreme Court even directed that the National Disaster Response Force should be trained to tackle the drought like conditions in the country.
