Indian Writer Among Eight To Win The Award

Indian writer Pankaj Mishra won the prestigious Windham Campbell literature prize in non- fiction category on the 9th March 2014. He is one of the eight writers from seven countries to win this award.

 

The award was announced by- The Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University which included prize- money of $ 150000 in recognition of their achievement and to support their ongoing work.

 

Pankaj Mishra is an Indian essayist, travel writer, memorist, and novelist. Through his standards of literary style, he gave new narratives about the evolution of modern Asia.

Till now, the names have just been announced. However, they will get the prize in person at a ceremony at Yale, U.S. on 15th September, 2014.
