This relationship between both the sides have not lasted for long despite signing number of bilateral deals, Pakistan’s plan to buy armament which include aircraft from Russia. And also the Moscow strategic dialogue between their Foreign Ministers on Joint Working Group to counter terrorism.

A new level of friendship was demonstrated as there were high level of visits and engagement between the two countries.

Pakistan’s hopes were strengthening as there was exchange of visits from high profile leaders of the two nations.
Beside this around 100 Pakistani businessmen, who visited Russia to participate in an exhibition, were detained on March 26 and deported back due to visa issues by the Immigration Authorities in Moscow, and moreover the Pakistani diplomats in Moscow had a really tough time in getting access to them.

This cold shoulder from Russia’s side does indicate the lack of trust between both the sides, which is carried from the Cold war era days.
