Rajiv Gandhi’s Killers might be let go

The Ex-Prime Minister of India, Rajiv Gandhi had died on 21st May, 1991 in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. His death was a result of a suicide bombing carried out by Thenmozhi Rajaratnam. The attack was the plan of LTTE (Liberation on Tamil Tigers Eelam)

Perarivalan, Murugan, Santhan, Nalini, Robert Pious, Jayakumar and Ravichandran were the seven people, who were convicted for this assassination.

The Tamil Nadu government has sought the permission of the centre in releasing these convicts ahead of their time.

These convicts have spent more than 20 years in jail and had sent a petition to the state government for their early release.
