Arundhati Roy to come out with new novel!:- Hello fellow Bibliophiles! We have got some exciting news for you and for your love for books.

Arundhati Roy, one of the most popular Indian writers is soon going to publish her new novel. The announcement was made by Penguin India on their official Facebook Page.

The announcement read- “Hamish Hamilton UK and Penguin India are proud to announce that they will publish The Ministry of Utmost Happiness by Arundhati Roy in June 2017.It is her first work of fiction since The God of Small Things, which won the Booker prize nineteen years ago in 1997.”

Arundhati Roy said- “I am glad to report that the mad souls (even the wicked ones) in The Ministry of Utmost Happiness have found a way into the world, and that I have found my publishers.”

Roy is a famous writer and also a political activist who is best known for her book ‘The God of Small Things’. The book had come out in 1997 and had also won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction. Roy took 4 years to produce this masterpiece.

She has been involved in various human rights and environmental causes. Some causes that she has been very vocal about are-Support for Kashmiri separatism, Sardar Sarovar Project the War in Afghanistan, India’s nuclear weaponisation, 2001 Indian Parliament attack, Criticism of Anna Hazare and many more.

She has also authored various non-fiction works such as The End of Imagination, The Hanging of Afzal Guru and the Strange Case of the Attack on the Indian Parliament, Capitalism: A Ghost Story, Listening to Grasshoppers: Field Notes on Democracy,Walking with the Comrades among others.

Her articles and essays have often been a part of India’s leading magazine Outlook.

The announcement for her new book has already got us super excited and we cannot wait till 2017!
