Her latest collection is inspired by colour experimentation where special hues, saturations and gradients appear by varying and altering intentionally different dyeing methods. “I have been experimenting during the last few years in Argentina, Ghana and the Netherlands,” Lucila said. It all started while she was doing fashion designing diploma in Argentina, when she started designing and printing patterns on fabrics. She explained, “My mother influenced me a lot. While living in Ghana she used to visit Argentina every year and bring me gifts such as Ghanan fabrics with an explosion of colours and prints with an unique technique that deeply inspired me”, said the scarf designer. Then she decided to go to Ghana and learn more about the fabrics, prints and techniques.

Natural dyes were her next technique. “After moving back to Netherland I started experimenting with dyes. In collaboration with a textile artist I started developing natured dyes and unique colours on fabrics like silk and wool. During the process I learnt the technique of extracting colours from pants and inducting them to fabrics,” she informed.

Year 2014 she introduced her own branded collection of scarf’s and shawls developed in my own laboratory in Amsterdam. It all started when she found people in her country wear something around the neck whole year to protect from the cold wind. “So my idea of producing scarves and shawls started developing into full-fledged business. Thick shawl for inter and soft for summer.”
