In spite of putting all your efforts are you not able to get good results? Do you feel confined where you are, ineffectual to progress or move forward? That means you are lacking somewhere. You see your fellow workers getting promoted and moving on, and wonder what’s different about you. Do you know the 5- hour rule? It might solve all your problems.

If you are not able to reap long benefits of your efforts, then you need to follow the 5 hour rule. This 5-hour rule is followed by many successful people across the world, including Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.

Spend 5 hours a week on intended learning

The 5-hour rule means spending five hours a week, or one hour each week day on deliberate learning. This means managing time to pay full attention to learning and development without getting vague by other work.
The 5-hour rule can take a few different methods of learning and a bunch of these will give you the most excellent experience.

Reading

Reading is very important for boosting your knowledge. It is very simple, convenient and enjoyable way to learn. Reading is a habit of many successful people.

Try to keep books in your bag and when you get time read it. Make your aim each day that you have to read this much of chapters or pages, if you do this regularly it will automatically become your habit.

Reflection

It is the important part of learning. What you have gained from reading if you don’t implement on yourself, then there is no use of that knowledge. Trying to absorb too much information without reflecting on it can leave you feeling devastated and averts you to take up new skills. It’s important that your reflection time is arranged.
A good way to do this is to keep almanac with you and write down what you are learning. This will help you to reflect on what you have accomplished through reading.

Experimentation

Experimenting new theories or ideas is very essential, if you want to progress in life. Take out some time every week and test out new theories or ideas no matter how crazy they are. Establish new ideas because innovation and learning never comes from doing the same thing again and again. Even if your experiment fails never lose hope because you’ll have learned worthy lessons.

Don’t baffle working with learning

It’s very simple to baffle working with learning, and this is how you can end up feeling fixed. You might think it is enough for you to see improvement if you are working for more 30 hours a week.

While you are focussed on day-to-day issues, you are not giving time to yourself to grow and develop.
The 5-hour rule is about intended learning, not about doing work every day and thinking you might learn something. Set some specific goals and give time to yourself to achieve them.

Focus on improvement, not just productivity

Many people see productivity as their improvement but this is not necessary. If you are focussed on the same work, you may be doing a good job, but you’ll never see long-term improvement in yourself. It may be hard for you to allow yourself five hours a week for learning that doesn’t come with an instant recompense, but you’ll thank yourself for it in the long run.
