Depression is linked to genes!

If you often feel depressed then you may blame his Neanderthal heritage.

After a massive study that unites tens of thousands of medical records of modern people to their genetic histories, certain genes of Neanderthals have been linked to psychiatric disorders, blood clotting and addictive behaviors.

Neanderthals lived in Europe and western Asia from 200,000 years ago , before the arrival of modern humans.

Researchers believed that the modern town, as it evolved, retains some Neanderthal DNA because it was very useful to deal with the new environments outside Africa.

However, many of these features may not be advantageous in modern environments.

An earlier study, published in January in the American Journal of Human Genetics, found evidence that Neanderthal genes were linked to certain immune disorders, allergies and asthma.
