Will MS Dhoni be able to come back in Indian team if there is no IPL due to coronavirus

Will we not see MS Dhoni ever on the field if the IPL 2020 is cancelled?

Since the exit of Indian team from the 2019 World Cup after a defeat in the semifinal, MS Dhoni is not seen donning the national colour. Who could forget the long walk our former captain had after he was run out by Martin Guptill in the penultimate over. We all were dying to see MS Dhoni on the field in the IPL 2020 but coronavirus has put suspense on the commencement of IPL. The decision will be taken by BCCI by the end of March. All the parties including the franchises, sponsors, organizers and spectators want IPL to happen but the possibility of cancellation of IPL can not be denied.

Selectors of the team and members of team management including Ravi Shastri have said that IPL will decide the fortune of MS Dhoni and his inclusion in the upcoming T20 world cup 2020. Now, that there is a possibility of no IPL at all, many of you must be wondering if MS Dhoni will get to come back in the Indian team or not.

What cricket experts are speculating about MS Dhoni comeback

A senior cricket specialist and anchor Vikrant Gupta has said several times that MS Dhoni will not be donning the blue jersey anymore. However, he has said that- MS Dhoni’s return to the Indian team is not totally out of the question. He could come back if there is any miracle.

Aakash Chopra, cricket commentator and former Indian cricketer has said that Dhoni doesn’t need IPL to make a comeback.  He could come back into the team anyway if he makes himself available for the selection. The former Indian captain has loads of experience that will come handy in a big tournament like T20 World Cup.

MS Dhoni is currently in Ranchi and was seen driving a bike before playing badminton. He was earlier seen practising on the nets and hitting big sixes-worthy shots in Chennai Super Kings training camp. Due to coronavirus, the camps of all franchises are cancelled and players have moved back to their respected homes.

If the IPL 2020 gets cancelled we might not see MS Dhoni ever hitting those humongous sixes. We have seen in the past about the clarity he has about decision making. He retired from Test Cricket from nowhere and left captaincy in limited-overs suddenly in 2017. If he is not playing cricket for the Indian team for almost 10 months now, he must be clear about his no-return in his head.
