Social, Political and Religious gatherings prohibited in Maharashtra: Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray 

Just after Valentine’s Week, Maharashtra reported new COVID cases. Since then, the state is witnessing a spike in cases. It has so far reported 926 new COVID cases and 6 fresh deaths. To keep the situation in control, Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray announced that all political, religious and social gatherings will be prohibited from Monday.  He further added if the situation further deteriorates, then a complete lockdown would be announced.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal met protesting farmers and called the Farms Laws  Death Warrant for the Farmers

Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday went to meet the farmer leaders from the Western UP region who are actively protesting against the farm laws at Delhi borders, especially at the Ghazipur border point. His visit attracted a lot of limelight.  After the meeting, he demanded to withdraw the farm laws from the government and termed it is as Death Warrant for the farmers. Notably, the meeting came ahead of a Kisan Mahapanchayat that Arvind Kejriwal will address on February 28, 2021. Talking about his meeting, he said, “These anti-farmer laws are death warrants to farmers. If they will get implemented farmers will become labourers in their own land as crops will go into the hands of a few industrialists. Central Government should immediately withdraw these laws.” The AAP has already announced that it is contesting the UP Assembly polls in 2022.  Interestingly, this will be the first major appearance of Arvind Kejriwal in the poll-bound state.

Don’t Skip the Second Dose of the COVID vaccine else bear your own treatment expense later: Punjab Health Minister

India started its second vaccination drive on February 13.  Notably, on January 16, 2021, 2 lac healthcare workers were vaccinated. Now, it is time for the second dose of the covid vaccine. But it seems people are choosing not to take the second shot.  In that case, Punjab Health Minister,  Balbir Singh Sidhu on Sunday said, if the healthcare and frontline workers skip their vaccines now, then they will have to bear the cost of their treatment later, in case if they develop COVID 19 infection.  He warned that workers, who are skipping the second shot of the vaccine will not be allowed to avail quarantine or isolation leave.
