Thappad has released in the cinema halls and people are pondering if they want to watch the movie or not. The movie is about a woman who files a divorce when her husband slaps her. It is directed by Anubhav Sinha, who has given some brilliant movie in the last few years like Mulk and Article 15. A slap to patriarchal society

The lead character Amrita (Taapsee Pannu) is a strong woman who chooses to be a housewife and sacrifice her amazing classical dancing talent for his husband. The husband is very ambitious and focused on achieving his career goals. The husband slaps Amrita in a party in front of families and guests. Amrita decides to slap a divorce on his husband and doesn’t move-on, changing the patriarchal society that hitting your wife is not normal at all.

Brilliant direction

Anubhav Sinha after delivering two amazing movies in 2018 and 2019, has started 2020 with a strong film again. Anubhav was criticized a lot after the failure of big-budget Ra-One, he came strongly and delivered some heart-touching movies. With this movie, he is completing the trilogy of religion, caste and now gender-based movies with Mulk, Article 15 and Thappad respectively.

Taapsee Pannu is amazing again

Since her debut in Pink, Taapsee Pannu hasn’t looked back. She portrays Amrita’ helplessness and rage all at once through her eyes alone. Taapsee’s acting looks very natural and the way she delivers her dialogues are very relatable.
