Devastating Car-Lorry Collision Results in Tragic Tiruvannamalai Accident 

A tragic road accident on the Anthanur bypass road near Chengam, Tiruvannamalai, claimed the lives of seven individuals, including two children. The victims, traveling from Tiruvannamalai to Bengaluru were involved in a devastating head-on collision with a lorry heading in the opposite direction towards Tiruvannamalai. The Tiruvannamalai accident that took the lives of four men, two children, and a woman waa caused due to this high-impact collision.

Rescue Efforts and Investigation

First responders, including the police and fire services, quickly arrived at the scene to extract the seven bodies from the mangled car. Additionally, a critically injured woman was rushed to Tiruvannamalai Government Medical College Hospital for immediate medical attention. In the aftermath of the accident, the lorry’s driver fled the scene, prompting Chengam police officials to initiate an investigation aimed at identifying the victims and locating the absconding driver.

In response to this devastating incident, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin expressed his condolences and announced an ex gratia relief fund of Rs 2 lakhs for the families of each deceased individual, along with an additional Rs 1 lakh for the woman currently undergoing medical treatment.

This tragic accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for stringent measures to prevent such heart-wrenching incidents.
