Case Hearing on Oct 19

Justice Vikas Bahl is set to preside over the case on October 19. The violence in Nuh erupted during a procession organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad on July 31, resulting in six fatalities. A cleric also died in an attack on a mosque in nearby Gurugram.

Mamman Khan had requested that all cases linked to the Nuh violence be transferred to a special investigation team, which has already been formed, according to the government’s response to the court. Initially, Khan had been summoned twice by Nuh Police for questioning but had failed to appear, citing illness.

In his petition, Khan asserted that he was at his Gurugram residence from July 26 to August 1, rather than being in Nuh. However, the government’s counsel contended that the evidence contradicted Khan’s claims, including call records, his location data from a cell tower, a statement from his personal security officer, and other evidence suggesting his presence in Nuh. Additionally, a co-accused, Taufiq, arrested on September 9, had allegedly implicated Khan, revealing phone calls between them on July 29 and 30, a day before the violence erupted.
