Tragic Thane News: Laborer Fatally Injured in Mumbra due to Live Wire Mishap, Investigation Initiated


A 30-year-old man lost his life in a tragic electrocution incident in Thane, while en route to work in Mumbra. Ravindra Chavhan, a daily wage labourer residing in Sainik Nagar, Bhiwandi, was identified as the victim. He left his residence around 8 am on Wednesday morning and was on his way to work in Mumbra.

Detached Live Wire:

Tragedy struck at approximately 8:15 am when Chavhan inadvertently stepped on a live wire that had detached from an overhead electric pole. The wire’s contact resulted in electrocution, leading to his untimely demise. Torrent Private Limited, the electricity provider for Mumbra, was responsible for the supply in the area.

Local residents and bystanders rushed to the scene, promptly alerting the local authorities. Chavhan was swiftly taken to Bilal Hospital in Mumbra and then referred to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa. Tragically, he was declared dead upon arrival at the latter hospital.

Investigation ongoing:

Mumbra police have initiated an investigation into the incident, aiming to ascertain the circumstances that led to the live wire detachment and subsequent electrocution. As inquiries continue, the community mourns the loss of Ravindra Chavhan due to this unfortunate incident.
