Fake AIIMS Doctor Arrested After Woman’s Health Deteriorates

A fake AIIMS doctor arrested in Odisha's Ganjam for running an illegal clinic, causing harm to a patient's health. The incident highlights the need for strict measures to safeguard lives.

In Odisha’s Ganjam district, Subhrajit Panda was arrested for masquerading as a doctor and running an unauthorized clinic without legitimate medical qualifications. Fake AIIMS Doctor Arrested following a complaint filed by Chanameri village’s Simanchal Sahu.

As per Simanchal’s complaint, his mother sought treatment at the suspect’s clinic, receiving injections and medication that had detrimental effects on her health. Consequently, she had to be transferred to MKCG Hospital in Berhampur and later referred to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for further medical attention.

Illegal Clinic Scam: 

In response to the complaint, the police initiated an investigation and conducted raids at the suspect’s clinic, residence, and parental home in Dhenkanal. They discovered that Subhrajit Panda had been operating an illegal clinic named ‘Ashok Clinic’ for six years, falsely presenting himself as a specialist doctor associated with Delhi AIIMS. He deceitfully charged Rs 300 for a five-minute consultation, preying on unsuspecting patients’ trust.

Forged Certificates:

During the investigation, the police found numerous forged medical certificates from various colleges and deceptive documents in the suspect’s possession. Shockingly, it was revealed that he had a prior arrest by Telangana police in 2020 for falsely claiming to be a member of the World Health Organization (WHO).

Saravana Vivek M, the Superintendent of Police in Berhampur, confirmed the arrest, and the accused is set to appear in court for his actions. This incident emphasizes the crucial necessity for stringent measures to deter individuals from impersonating medical professionals and endangering innocent lives.
