There is a fear of flood in the national capital New Delhi as Yamuna crosses its 207 metre danger mark


The weather department predicted light rainfall with a cloudy sky. The water level at the Yamuna crosses 207.18 metres mark triggering fear of flood. The highest flood record in New Delhi has been 207.49.

The water level of Yamuna river is increasing due to the heavy rainfall. India witnessed one of the highest rainfalls in 41 years. Collapsing of houses is common but not in the capital of the nation, uprooting of trees and water logging was witnessed during the heavy rainfall.

The weather experts predict that heavy rain will continue to batter in Punjab, Himachal and New delhi. The IMD issued an Orange alert in the capital.
