1.For the first time in India, the sex ratio favours females

 

In what has been regarded as a piece of historical news, India has reported sex ratio data in favour of females. This will be the first time that India has reported such data. Now, according to the reports, for every 1000 boys, India has 1200 girls. This news was shared by the government of India last week.

2.Matilda Kullu Featured on the Forbes’ list of Powerful Women in India

 Matilda Kullu, an ASHA worker from Odisha has been featured on the Forbes’ list of powerful women in India. The 45-year old was appointed 15 years ago in Gargadbahal village of Baragaon tehsil, Sundargarh. She has been cited as instrumental in taking COVID-19 care to the grassroots level in her area. The CM of the state of Orissa has also congratulated her with a tweet.

3.Julie Anne Genter cycled to hospital in Labour

 New Zealand MP Julie Anne Genter reportedly rode a cycle to the hospital in labour on Sunday. She gave birth to a baby girl, not more than an hour later. The time of the birth of her daughter was 3:04 am. “Big news! At 3.04 am this morning we welcomed the newest member of our family. I genuinely wasn’t planning to cycle in labour, but it did end up happening.”

4. Israel to host Miss Universe in December despite the threat of Omicron

In a shocking turn of events, Israel has declared that it will host the Miss Universe 2021 beauty pageant despite the immediate threat of the COVID-19 variant Omicron. The pageant will be held on December 12 despite the travel restrictions imposed in many countries. Although, it was also mentioned that the participants of the beauty pageant will have to go through the RT-PCR test every 48 hours along with other precautionary measures. The news becomes all the more worrisome as several cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus were found in Israel itself.

5. P. V. Sindhu loses to Ratchanok Intanon in Indonesia Open

 

World Champion and Olympian P. V. Sindhu lost to Thailand’s Ratchanok Intanon in the semi-finals of the Indonesian Open Super 1000 event on Saturday. Reportedly, P. V. Sindhu had made it to the last four in Indonesian Masters last week and also at the French Open in October.

6. Lindsay Lohan engaged to Bader Shammas

 

Famous actress Lindsay Lohan announced her engagement to financier boyfriend Bader Shammas on Instagram. She shared pictures of herself along with her boyfriend and her ring. The couple is in their mid-thirties and has been together since at least 2020.

“My love. My life. My family. My future. @bader.shammas #love ?,” was the caption of the post that Lindsay shared on her Instagram.

7. Hema Malini receives Indian Film Personality of the Year award

 

Veteran actress Hema Malini received the Indian Film Personality of the Year award at the 52nd Indian International Film Festival. The festival started in Goa on Saturday and ran from November 20th to November 28th. The opening ceremony was held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium.
