After an unlimited break imposed since of heavy rains in the state, all schools and colleges have reopened in the city.
Except 24 government schools that are temporarily being used as relief centre for affected people all other schools have reopened.
Meanwhile, the heavy unseasonal rains continued to hit areas of Tamil Nadu as the number of death in the rain-related incidents reached up to 176.
The relief package of Rs940 crore has been released by the National Disaster Relief Fund (NDRF) for the affected people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also ordered immediate discharge of Rs. 940 crores central support for rain affected regions in Chennai.
