A retired JNU professor, Chaman Lal has decided to show his solidarity with the JNU case by giving back the award he had won. He will be giving back the award, ‘Hinditar Bhashi Hindi Lekhak Puraskar’ to the ministry of human resource development.
The award was given to him by the Central Hindi Directorate, HRD ministry in 2003. Along with award he will be giving back the Rs. 50,000 cash he got with it.
The current situation in JNU is very tensed and the students are demanding the release of Kanahiya Kumar and Umar Khalid, who were arrested on sedition charges.
