Finally Human Right activist Irom Chanu Sharmila ended her 16 year long fast against Armed Forces Act, 1958 and was granted bail by an Imphal Court.
Her lawyer in a statement said that now she will be examined on August 23 in the court. Notably , Irom earlier had announced that she will contest 2017 Manipur Assembly Elections.

According to her doctors Sharmila has to stay on liquid for next few days as someone who has not eaten for 16 years cannot immediately start eating.
Notably, she went on strike in year 200, when 10 people died in firing by security forces.
