Samsung’s Bixby voice assistant, a new key feature which was expected to be on their latest smartphone Galaxy S8 has been delayed. The feature was supposed to make debut on April 21 has been postponed by the S.Korea tech giant without any specific reason.

Bixby was a key feature of the Galaxy S8 when it was revealed in March.

In a statement Samsung said,”Headline feature of Bixby, including Vision, Home and Reminder, will be available with the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 on April 21.” The firm added, “Bixby voice will be available in the US on the Galaxy S8 later this spring.”

According to reports, Bixby disappointed viewers on its demonstration. At the launch, Samsung stated that Bixby could only be used to control a limited set of applications, such as making a phone call rather than the broader line-up of search queries and third-party applications offered by Siri and Google Assistant.

Early buyers of Samsung Galaxy S8 will be able to use the key feature of Bixby which include Vision, Home, Reminder, and read bar codes or shop.

On Tuesday, Samsung said, “These features of Bixby, including Vision, Home, and Reminder, will be obtainable with the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 on 21st April. Bixby Voice will be available on the Galaxy S8 later this spring in the US.”

Samsung has not tossed Bixby as a one-to-one competitor to other popular voice helpers like Amazon’s Alexa, Apple’s Siri, and Google’s Google Assistant. These companies have spent last some years creating such assistants in the desires that they will be the next dominant interfaces for personal computing.
