The Indian batters faced a formidable challenge in the final against Sri Lanka, as they struggled to find their rhythm against the skilful Sri Lankan spinners. In a bid to set a competitive total, India managed to put up a modest score of 116 runs on the scoreboard. However, it was the partnership between Smriti Mandhana (46) and Jemimah Rodrigues (42) that breathed life into India’s innings. Their 73-run stand for the second wicket provided the team with a solid platform to reach a respectable score. Unfortunately, the Indian middle-order faltered after this partnership, unable to capitalize on the momentum gained.
