The Underground Rap producer ICONYK comes with his new release

ICONYK releases 4th installment of Strangers in My Bedroom

Strangers In My Bedroom took shape post he discovery of some talented ‘strangers’ that he came across and connected with online. “These are artists I’ve never met before and only have had an online relationship with them where we like each other’s pictures, talk about music and do everything else virtually, due to the lockdown. Since both me and my collaborator are working on the music while sitting in our respective bedrooms, I thought Strangers In My Bedroom would be an apt name,” says Malik.

So far Iconyk has released four episodes of SIMB that featured singers such as Tyesha Kohli, (from New Delhi) on  Kehlani’s Honey, Chennai’s Nitika Kurian on Kehlani’s Nights Like This ,Mumbai-based Nikitaa (singe of the Masaba Masaba fame) on Jorja Smith’s Be Honest.

The sound is predominantly modern pop-R&B and the artistes have emphasised the need and resolve to keep things a bit different. Instead of adding a touch of fusion, they’ve kept the covers “more in vein with the original modern-electronic-pop sound. We want this to be a reminder to the world that India is very well in tune with the sounds of the billboard and modern pop music and there are artists here who definitely deserve global recognition.”

While Nikhil shuttles between LA and Mumbai every few months, he’s originally a Delhi boy. He has been a part for quite a few well known Delhi-based bands such as Blank Noise, Half Step Down, Cyanide followed by Meattle & Malik with (singer-songwriter Raghav Meattle).

We hopethat this installment of Strangers in my Background will find you in bumping as it is worth enjoying.
