What is constructive criticism?

It is a communication technique intended to identify problems and solve them in a positive way. It helps people to find a solution to their problem. And constructive criticism promotes problem solving and self improvement that advances a person to the next level of behavior.

In schools and in colleges, this technique is used for effective results. Now, sometimes it happens that individuals take it too personally and react to the situation very emotionally, and miss out on the fact that it was said in a good intent.

I finished my 12 and got 95% and I was really happy and on that day she told me I used to scold you because I knew that you had potential in you. I wanted you to take things seriously. Now I find her so right”, says Priyagna, a C.A student.

“I studied in a Hindi medium school and was not so good at English communication. After getting married I was not able to adjust with my in- laws as they were fluent in English. My husband used to criticize me so, I decided to learn it and I did and now I am myself an English teacher” says Seema Tiwari.

The above message is effective because it offers some positive reinforcement and yes it has made differences in the lives of people.
