Run for Unity on October 31st to celebrate Sardar Vallabhai Patel’s birthday:- Government of India is all set to mark another ‘Run for unity’ on 31st October of the year to celebrate the birth anniversary of Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhai Patel who united 565 princely states to give India her present identity.

It is not long when Prime Minister, Narendra Modi first announced ‘Run for Unity’ on the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel last year as a tribute to his undying efforts for uniting India. 31st October was then announced as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas’ (National Unity Day).

This year, Centre has yet again decided to celebrate the 141st birthday of India’s first Home Minister in a great fashion outshining last year’s carnival. This ‘Run for Unity’ will be the largest mass run/walk of its kind in the world.

Run for Unity’ to glorify country once again

According to the sources, this year Union Ministers will be seen leading yatras in various states whereas Prime Minister, Narendra Modi will launch a digital exhibition on Sardar Patel yet again supporting Government’s Digital India scheme.

Through this run, Sarder’s mantra of “Ek Bharat: Shresth Bharat” is attempted to recall. The message is clear that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel gave us “Ek Bharat” (United India), and we should all work towards creating “Shresth Bharat” (Foremost India). Sardar had a strategic foresight, through which he converted that dream into reality.

‘A country that forgets history, cannot create history’ said PM Narendra Modi is his last year’s address to the citizens of the country during ‘Run for Unity’ in order to remind them of India`s glorious heritage and inspire the aspirational youth to elevate it further.

31st October also marks the death anniversary of India’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi had also launched an initiative to install Sardar Patel’s statue all over Gujarat as Chief Minister of the state.
