April began with a lot of shocking, amazing, and fascinating columns. However, March 2022 was not a step behind. Therefore, let us visit a month back and have a look at the events that remained the highlights of the month.

Here are the major highlights of March 2022, which remained at the top of the talked topic.

March 2022: A Month began with political drama

BJP delivered big, once again, in the recently concluded Assembly Elections, winning four of the five states – Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Goa. However, Punjab went to the Aam Aadmi Party.

The BJP won the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections by getting 253 seats in an intensely bipolar contest, though with a reduced tally from their 2017 score of 312 seats.

CM Yogi Adityanath, the first Chief Minister to return to power in the State, called it a defeat for the politics of jaatiwad (casteist) and paarivaad (nepotism). He claimed the BJP’s victory was because of his government’s emphasis on development, security, and good administration.

On the other hand, AAP emerged as a strong contender  in the Punjab Assembly Elections 2022 and won 92 seats. Bhagwant Mann, of the Aam Aadmi Party, took oath as Punjab Chief Minister on March 16. Now, CM Kejriwal is aiming to recognize AAP as a National Party.

March 2022: Hottest month since 1901

March 2022

It is the summer season, but nobody expected it to knock on the door so soon. As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), March 2022 has been recorded as the hottest month since 1901. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced that the March 2022 average temperature was 33.1 degrees Celsius, breaking the March 2010 average of 33.09 degrees Celsius.

However, the IMD department also predicted that severe heat waves would continue to reel Delhi until April 6, 2022. Scientist RK Janamani added that the impact would be seen in April. Moreover, the first 10-15 days of April will likely be dry, and the intensified heat wave will continue.

March 2022: Kashmir Files, A film that proves many emotions

March is also known for Kashmir Files. The film was completed on a budget of just six crores and entered the 200-crore club that became a movement for many. The gut-wrenching film left viewers in tears and more in anger. During the Kashmir insurgency, in 1990, the Kashmir Files provides a comprehensive account of the brutal sufferings experienced by Kashmiri Pandits. From PM to CM, the film received a shout out from many. Have you watched the film yet?
