Good news: Upper age limit for eligibility removed for NEET-UG

A piece of great news for medical education enthusiasts as the National Medical Commission (NMC) has removed the upper age limit for those appearing in NEET Under Graduate 2022 exam. This move will enable candidates to take the medical entrance exam as many times as possible.

The upper age limit for 2017 was 25 years for unreserved candidates and 30 years for direct candidates, and 30 years for reserved candidates.

Good news: Karnataka launches programme to provide 5 lakh jobs to women

Taking a significant step to provide employment opportunities to women, Karnataka Government has launched Women@Work (W@W) programme under which it intends to provide 5 lakh jobs within 2026 to women with necessary employable skills.

Under this initiative, free certificate courses will be available for women, and they can have technical training in various disciplines. Government has a plan to increase the percentage of women in the workforce from 35% to 50 %.

Good news: Kerala rolls out women-only budget tourism package

Taking a unique step towards encouraging women, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced exclusive tourism packages for women in line with Women’s Day on March 8.

These trips will be running from March 8 to 13, and it will be observed as ‘Women’s travel week.’ Women travellers will visit hill areas, beautiful rivers, and beautiful waterfalls at Vagamon, Parunthumpara, and Malakkappara.

Good news: East coast railway launches 1st ever all-female crew train

Boosting women empowerment, the East Coast Railway flagged the 1st all-female crew-manned passenger train. Loco pilot Sadhana Kumari commanded the train alongside Assistant Loco Pilot N Madhuri and Goods Guard K Ramya.

The ticket checking work was taken care of by three female TCs, namely CV G Mangeswari, B Khullar, and D Radha. This train ran from Visakhapatnam to Rayagada.

Good news: For the 1st time, the Navy to induct women cadets from NDA

Opportunity for women in the defence sector witnessed another great moment as the Indian Navy has decided to establish women cadets from the National Defence Academy in 3 branches. For the 1st time, the Navy is opening doors for NDA’s women cadets.

Women cadets will be inducted into education, logistics, and Naval Armament Inspectorate.

Good news: India tops the medallist in ISSF Shooting World Cup 2022

India bagged 1st place in the medal tally at Cairo’s ISSF shooting World Cup 2022. Team India conducted its journey with seven medals, four gold, two silver, and one bronze.

The Indian trio of Rahi Sarnobat, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan had clinched gold in the women’s 25m pistol team event.

Good news: Ritika Dangi wins gold in Asian Sailing Championship 

India’s Ritika Dangi won the gold medal in the ILCA-4 (Laser 4.7 class boat) event at the Asian Sailing Championship held in Abu Dhabi from February 27 to March 6, 2022. Neha Thakur clinched a bronze medal in this event. The Indian Sailing Team has earned qualifications for the Asian Games.

India has completed its journey in this tournament with nine medals, including three gold, three silver, and three bronze.
