According to a new study, the reasons how green tea polyphenols could protect people’s brain in case of a spinal cord injury has been revealed.
Jianbo Zhao and his co-workers from the First Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning Medical University, China has found that polyphenols which are found in green tea are a good and strong antioxidants and does reduce free radical damage.

It also effectively alleviated oxidative stress and also inhibits neuronal apoptosis, further indicating that green tea polyphenols plays a protective role in spinal cord neurons under oxidative stress.
This study was published in the Neural Regeneration Research.
