In what can be seen as a welcoming step, the HRD (Human Resources Department) has decided to launch 32 Direct to home channels to help so many students out there in the country.
IIT DELHI
These channels will telecast live lectures from six IIT’s (Indian Institute of Technology) from Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kharagpur, Kanpur and Guwahati and some other premiere institutes (they have not been finalised yet). This will be a huge help for many students across the country.
The Department of Space is also on board with this decision and will help out by providing two transponders on a GSAT series satellite for the same.
