Bachchan Starts WAR on Silver Screen

Amitabh Bachchan, for the first time will be seen in a fictional show on the Indian small screen. Portraying the role of Yudhisthir Sikarwar, a highly competitive businessman juxtaposed between health and financial issues, he will be seen in some really dramatic scenes. The television series titled ‘Yudh’ will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television starting 14th July, 2014.

To be aired from Monday to Thursday at 10:30 p.m., the show seems to give a cinematic experience to it the television viewers across the country. Yudh has been co-produced by Big B’s production company Saraswati Creations in collaboration with Endemol India. Anurag Kashyap and Shoojit Sircar have served as the Creative Director and Creative Consultant respectively, of the series which has been directed by Ribhu Dasgupta.

The story revolves around the life of Mr. Bahchchan’s character that is diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disorder. It displays his journey, complications with his family and the struggle with his ill health.


“I am eagerly waiting to see Amitabh Bachchan on the small screen. We have although seen him hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) on TV, this fictional series is going to be a completely different experience,” stated Deepak Singhal, an eleventh grade student from Silver Line School who seemed excited about the upcoming show. People of all age groups are eager to watch the ‘Superstar of the Millenium’s’ debut fiction television show.

The show also features the likes of Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Kay Kay Menon. What was interesting to know is that the cast of the show including Mr. Bachchan skipped make-up while shooting, to give the show a real life and natural look.
