Oscar 2021 concludes; Here’s the list of Winners

From Anthony Hopkins to Nomadland, all the winners from Oscar 2021

Oscar 2021 has concluded. It started out with a long tracking shot featuring the presenter Regina King. The awards this time had a number of surprises with the big one being, late actor Chadwick Boseman losing out the best actor award. Chadwick was the sentimental favorite and a clear front-runner for the award, after his unexpected demise last August at the young age of 43. So, without further ado here is the list of winners at the Oscar 2021.

Best Actor

WINNER: Anthony Hopkins, The Father

Other Nominees:

Riz Ahmed, Sound of Metal
Chadwick Boseman, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom
Gary Oldman, Mank
Steven Yeun, Minari

Chadwick Boseman, who died in August after a four-year battle with colon cancer, was widely expected to win the Academy Award for his role in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.” Instead, the award went to Anthony Hopkins in an upset. Chadwick would have been the third actor to win a anon honorary Oscar after death, like, Peter Finch (best actor, “Network,” 1976) and Heath Ledger (best supporting actor, “The Dark Knight,” 2008). But Anthony Hopkins did a great job and he absolutely deserved the win. Anthony who is 83, became the oldest person to receive an Oscar.
