Vicky Kaushal is open to new genres but doesn’t want to get stereotyped

Bhoot – Part one: The Haunted Ship director wants to set an example and motivate producers and actors to make more horror movies


Vicky Kaushal wants to try different genres and doesn’t want to create his image as an actor with a specific genre.  Vicky Kaushal and Director of Bhoot- Part One: The Haunted Ship, Bhanu Pratap Singh were in New Delhi on Monday to promote their upcoming horror movie.

While talking to the Press, the actor-director duo came shared some inside information from the production of the movie. Vicky Kaushal said that from Bhoot- Part One: The Haunted Ship, they want to start a new trend. They also hinted at a possible franchise of this horror-series if this movie is accepted well by the audience.

 Horror-genre has always been a weak-zone of Bollywood. People prefer Hollywood movies who have mastered the art of this genre with franchises like Insidious, The Conjuring, Annabelle and others. The trailer of Bhoot- Part One: The Haunted Ship has looked decent and promised to bring back the horror-genre audiences back to Bollywood.

Bhanu Pratap Singh, who is debuting as a director with this movie said that they have tried to make a product which is on-par with the Hollywood films. He also said that he wants to set an example and give confidence to Producers and actors to make more horror movies.

The movie is based on real events that occurred in Mumbai

Bhoot Part- One: The Haunted Ship is based on a real incident that took place in Mumbai. It is produced by the Dharma Production and will the screens on 21st February 2010. Apart from Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Ashutosh Rana are also playing a pivotal role in the movie.
